Many Questions and a lot searchs about Where is Dubai ? or where is dubai located in which country ? where is dubai located on the world map ALL the Questions answers you will found it here.
Make no mistake about it; Dubai is one of the planet’s most toured holiday destinations. According to Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, an estimated 13.2 million tourists thronged the city in 2015, marking an 8.2% increase from the previous year.
Even so, it’s not uncommon to hear people asking,
Well, for starters, Dubai is not a country. It is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, commonly referred to as UAE. It is the most populous city in the UAE and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai.
Dubai is home to more than two million people and covers a land area of 1,588.4 square miles. The city has a constitutional monarchy as is headed by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Dubai’s crown prince.
The city is nestled on the south coast of the Persian Gulf. More specifically, Dubai’s coordinates are 24 57´ N 55 20´ E.
But, it goes deeper than that. It might catch your attention to know that Dubai is amazingly within an 8-hour flight of 60% of the world population. It is, therefore, correct to argue that to some extent, Dubai is in the middle of the world (or centrally located if you will). Sounds crazy, right? To make it clearer, when in Dubai, you can travel to India, Asia, Africa, Sri Lanka and Europe within three to four hours!
Because it’s almost impossible to talk about Dubai without mentioning the other Emirates, let’s mention a couple of things about the UAE. Apart from Dubai, the other six emirates that make up the UAE are Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain as well as d Ras Al Khaimah.
Abu Dhabi is the only other emirate that is close to Dubai as far as infrastructural development is concerned and also takes up the vast majority of the country’s landmass.
One more thing you should know about the UAE is that it’s a peninsula which borders Oman to the East and Saudi Arabia to the South. The country also shares a maritime boundary with Iran across the Gulf of Oman through the Strait of Hormuz. That said, if you’re unsure of where Dubai is near, that explanation answers your question.
Dubai sits directly within the Arabian Desert which translates to desert-like topography. East of the city are salt-crusted plains, commonly referred to as sabkha. These give way to a line of sand dunes running from the north to the south. The dunes grow larger as you head to the farther east.
The sandy desert around the city supports occasional palm dates and wild grasses. Dubai’s authorities have done much to change the city’s topography including importing trees such as eucalypts which predominantly grow in the city’s natural parks.
Dubai’s weather is hot and humid throughout the year. August is the hottest month of the years. Winters are relatively warm and very short.
Even as we talk about where is Dubai in the world, it is critical to mention the Dubai Creek, a saltwater creek located in the city. Why? Because this where you will get most of Dubai’s real-estate boom.
The Creek runs northeast to southwest through the city and is also home to famous landmarks such as the Burj Al Arab, Port Rashid, Palm Jumeirah and Jebel Ali. Be sure to check out the Dubai Creek which also hosts the Business Bay, the city’s central business district.
Ask around, many people want to or are planning to visit Dubai, and it’s not surprising that the question about Dubai’s location keeps popping up now and then. Well, apart from being a global city, Dubai is also a top tourist destination. The city boasts some the world’s most iconic structure and skyscrapers, in particular, the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. But, is that all? Not really! Here are some of the reasons Dubai’s making tongues wag.
Dynamic Culture – Dubai is bustling with a vibrant culture, peacefully shared by people from all over the world. The diversity is seen in the traditional cuisine, fashion, and music. Even though Dubai is predominantly Islamic, it fosters a friendly atmosphere where it’s easy for natives and newcomers to connect with experiences such as dancing on the beach, riding camels or shopping for local art.
Innovation – It’s not hard to fall in love with Dubai’s ability to dream and accomplish majestic projects that would never get off the drawing board elsewhere. Dubai is the only place where you will find an island that mimics the shape of a palm tree and the planet’s fastest roller coaster. As a matter of fact, spending time in Dubai feels like taking a trip to the future.
Shopping Haven Dubai Malls – (Please check our post you will found list of malls in dubai )
Dubai is home to hundreds of malls and even has two annual shopping festivals – where else on earth do you get that? Shopping is a leisure activity here, malls more or less like a sheer collection of stores. Besides, Dubai is the only city nestled in a desert that has an indoor ski slope!
